We provide comprehensive engineering services from creative concepts through to production design for all aspects of rail vehicles.
Our engineering team can also produce all of the documentation required as evidence to submit to the relevant acceptance body.
Our electrical engineers can provide a complete and effective design solution for system integration and modification or installation of electrical equipment. We also offer vehicle surveys including power capacity testing, EMC investigations and fault analysis. Previous projects include GSM-R Radio, RETB Radio, Wi-Fi, CCTV, at Seat Power and lighting upgrades to both passenger and plant vehicles.
Engineering design is at the core of our business. Our talented CAD team in conjunction with our Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers and Industrial Designers can deliver cost effective, reliable and high quality designs. We deliver this work in such a way as to ensure we comply with all relevant standards including those imposed by manufacturers, owners and operators alike.
Our project engineers and technical authors have many years’ experience in the rail industry. Whether it be fault investigations, leading engineering design, or full suites of mechanical reports to support engineering design, dg8 can provide documents to meet many engineering requirements.
dg8 complete analyses of all engineering designs to ensure compliance with the relevant Railway Group Standards. These calculations encompass everything from small electrical items mounted within the saloon, to vehicle body modifications. We can also provide structural analyses of third party designs, ranging from single page hand calculations to full ANSYS finite elements analysis with accompanying structural reports.
To produce technical solutions to complex problems in the timescales clients demand we need to use the latest hardware and software computing products. We utilise three basic desktop variants specified for their ultimate end use of CAD, graphics or general office work.
To back this up we have also worked hard to put in place server and network technology to ensure we are working efficiently and reliably.
